Background

As the Tibetan freedom movement continues into its seventh decade, it faces both unprecedented challenges and powerful opportunities. Global political shifts, rising cultural assimilation, and generational change demand renewed commitment and vision. Today's youth are not just participants but the future leaders of the Tibetan cause. To ensure the long-term sustainability, strength, and relevance of our movement, it is essential to begin investing in leadership, capacity, and imagination that will shape tomorrow's Tibet.

In this spirit, a group of passionate Tibetan youth has launched All About Tibet, a platform for meaningful discussion, critical reflection, and collaboration among Tibetans worldwide. The campaign begins with an open essay writing campaign designed to gather ideas, strategies, and reflections on how to build and sustain a vibrant Tibetan movement for the future.

Importantly, this essay writing campaign is being launched in honor of the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, a year of special significance for all Tibetans. His lifelong vision of a united, compassionate, and forward-looking Tibetan society continues to inspire us to reflect on our responsibilities and reimagine our collective path forward.

Objective

The central aim of this essay writing campaign is to ignite broad-based community discussions on long-term strategies to sustain and advance the Tibetan movement. Through the essay campaign, we seek to:

  • Generate dialogue on the future of the Tibetan cause in the 21st century
  • Collect innovative and actionable strategies to strengthen Tibetan youth engagement
  • Document diverse Tibetan voices across generations
  • Launch a series of follow-up initiatives under the All About Tibet platform, beginning with this campaign
